My husband is still a patient there after a month, and he actually loves being there. He celebrated his birthday on the 17th June, and told nobody. Out of the blue, 7 nurses arrived into his room with a birthday cake and candles, singing, ‘Happy Birthday’ to him. Now, what other hospital would you get that in?

My experience with Al Zahra was very different from the previous commenter. Following a period of high fever, I went to see a GP who fairly quickly checked me and released with the basics for a common flue. Few days later I returned only to find that I had severe pneumonia and both lungs were heavily infected.

Although I told them repeatedly that I felt really really ill, I was dragged up and down stair cases to wait for various nurses and doctors. After going up and down flights of stairs5 times, I was taken up to wait for a specialist. After few minutes in the waiting room, I requested urgent help from the nurse at the reception only to be told to sit down and wait. After few more minutes, I repeated my request and informed the staff I was feeling extremely ill and dizzy. Again, I was told to sit down and wait.

I then collapsed, hit my head on the counter and fell over on the floor. All I could see was the nurses looking very confused over the counter.

The only help I got was from a fellow patient who was in the waiting room who rushed to my aid. After this, I was “rushed” to the doctor and told I should be taken to the emergency room.
The only problem was that I was in Dubai Zahra and they wanted to take me to Sharjah Zahra at the peak of rush hour.
I declined and had a friend take me to American hospital where I spent 3 days in ICU and another 3 days in the normal ward.

Never again. Zahra is by far the worst hospital in Dubai and there are many bad hospitals so it aint easy to be the worst!

I’ve never written a review for a hospital, but felt compelled to write one due to the excellent care I’ve received here.

The doctors are great listeners, very gentle and they never make you feel like they know your body better than you. I was really impressed with their service.

Al Zahra is a disgrace to the medical industry.
Unfortunately I know them all too well but after numerous incidents decided never to return.
Few years ago, I got severe pneumonia and during the 1st visit the Dr completely missed it. I was sent home and spent 4 days with my temperature getting higher every day.
Upon returning, I was dragged up and down stairs only to be left waiting in the waiting room after telling them numerous times that I was severely ill and needed immediate attention. The staff was rude repeatedly and after 3 times requesting immediate help from the nurses, I finally collapsed at the counter. Only to see the nurses looking at me with a puzzled look from OVER THE COUNTER. It was a fellow patient who picked me off the floor and laid me to rest in the waiting room.
After this, I was told they had to drive me to the emergency room, from Dubai branch to Sharjah. Needless to say, I opted to have a friend take me to another hospital.

What a joke! They are a complete disgrace and the hospital is managed by a bunch of 3rd rate administrators.

I ended up spending 5 days in ICU and another 2 days in recovery and was told that the pneumonia was so severe that had it not been for my otherwise good health, I surely would have died!

I have been in a very big difficulty of how to claim and invest the sum of $5.750 million which my father deposited in a security company for me before his death.
