Dr. Wassfi graduated from Alexandria University, Egypt and received his MD in Ophthalmology from the same University. He further completed his Doctorate Degree from Faculty of Medicine, Complutense University of Madrid, Spain.
Dr. Wassfi is an Anterior Segment and Refractive Surgery Consultant at UHS with experience in all general ophthalmic surgical procedures, including cataract and other anterior segment surgeries as well as Age Related Macular Degeneration (AMD) treatment, Diabetic Eye Disease management and Glaucoma treatment.
He has extensive experience in micro-incision refractive-cataract techniques and is specialized in complex anterior segment and corneal surgery for patients who have suffered eye trauma or disease, as well as all forms of corneal and external eye disease.
He began his Ophthalmology residency training at Alexandria University Hospital, Egypt and then went on to become anassistant lecturer. He was then appointed as an Ophthalmology Specialist in the Anterior Segment & Eyelid and Orbit Departments, San Carlos Clinical Hospital, Madrid-Spain for 4 years and joined the Novovision Clinic in Madrid as Anterior Segment and Refractive Surgery Consultant.
Prior to joining UHS, Dr. Wassfi held the position of Anterior Segment and Refractive Surgery Consultant in La Moraleja Sanitas Hospital, Madrid-Spain for 8 years.
Dr. Wassfi published his work in international journals and presented his experience in several local and international conferences. He is actively involved with teaching medical students and junior ophthalmologists. He is a member of the Egyptian and Spanish Medical Syndicates and is a Professor in the European School for Advanced Studies in Ophthalmology.
