To have responsibility for the Inpatient neuro-rehabilitation Occupational Therapy Service at the hospital.
To promote, maintain and further develop a high quality, efficient and effective Neurological and Complex rehabilitation Occupational Therapy Service, within in a multi-disciplinary context and in accordance with the philosophy and operational policies for the hospital and Organisation.
To provide advanced Occupational Therapy assessment and intervention to patients with both complex and neurological conditions.
To be the clinical lead for the Neurology in-service training for Occupational Therapists and other team members as necessary.
To educate, train, liaise with and provide specialist advice to other MDT members such as consultants, nurses, therapists and any other discipline who are involved in patient care.
Undertake evidence-based audit and research projects, in order to make recommendations for changes in own and team’s clinical practice on both and OT and MDT level.
To be responsible for the clinical supervision and monitoring of staff, including M3 and M2 in direct liaison with the Occupational Therapy Supervisor.
To advise and teach the relevant carers/health workers to participate in on-going rehabilitation care programmes for clients, as appropriate.
Not less than 4 years post graduate, licensed experience as an Occupational Therapist in relevant experience with patients with same diagnosis seen in acute care hospital or Rehab Facilities. 1 year demonstarted leadership.
