Abu Dhabi, UAE: Burjeel Hospital, Abu Dhabi’s leading tertiary care facility, announced the opening of its new medical facility, Burjeel Medical Center (BMC) in Al Shamkha, Abu Dhabi.
The official inauguration was held in the esteemed presence of HE Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Culture, Youth and Community Development of the UAE, with Dr. Shamsheer Vayalil, Managing Director of VPS Healthcare; Dr. Ali Obaid Al Ali, CEO-Abu Dhabi Hospitals of VPS Healthcare; and Mr. Clancey Po, CEO of Burjeel Hospital , Abu Dhabi.
The new center is conveniently located on the 1st floor of Makani Mall, giving members of the growing community in Al Shamkha and people living in neighboring areas easy access to excellent healthcare.

Medical services at BMC Al Shamkha will include specialty services such as internal medicine, family medicine, pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology, ophthalmology, general surgery, dental, orthopedics, cardiology, ENT, dermatology. The center will host special physician visits in specialties such as neurology, urology, nephrology, and pulmonology. The center also has comprehensive radiology services, an in-house laboratory and a well-stocked pharmacy.
Supporting the Heath Authority – Abu Dhabi (HAAD) initiative, Burjeel Medical Center will also offer the Weqaya screening program. The program provides patients access and information to and about their health reports and screening results to enable a better understanding of their health status.
The center also supports diagnostic and medication requirements of guests as it houses comprehensive Radiology services with 1.5 Tesla MRI unit, in-house Laboratory and well-stocked Pharmacy.
