Dr. Millicent opened the Gulf Eye Center in the Fairmont Hotel in Dubai as a prime LASIK and eye surgery destination for the residents of the UAE and region.
In 2006 a new procedure called Crosslinking was introduced for the first time in the Middle East. The treatment strengthens damaged eyes. Aside from heading the eye center in Dubai, Dr. Millicent also started consulting in other clinics in the city and performing surgeries in various hospitals.
The Gulf Eye Center introduced Orthokeratology – commonly referred to as Ortho-K in 2012. This is a simple reversible procedure where custom-made hard contact lenses are worn at night to reshape the cornea. The treatment provides a correction-free vision for the wearer during the daytime. This means that patients do not need glasses or contact lenses to see clearly.
