Prime Hospital Life Support Training Center is now open
Dubai, UAE: The Life Support Training Center of Prime Hospital, the first hospital of Prime Healthcare group in UAE, is now open to provide trainings and courses aimed at improving the health of the community of Dubai.
An inauguration ceremony was held on October 16, 2014 at the Prime Hospital Life Support Training Center (PHLSTC) with Dr. Zehra Al Hilali, Territory Director, MENA region for American Heart Association as guest of honor. The event was attended by Dr Jamil Ahmed, Managing Director, Prime HealthCare Group, the Center’s staff, management and invited guests.
The Prime Hospital Life Support Training Center (PHLSTC) offers a variety of programs designed by the American Heart Association (AHA) in equipping healthcare professionals and individuals to act in emergencies and save lives.
Dr Al Hilali commented: “The American Heart Association is very proud to present our 200th centre in the MENA region. We would like to commend the management of Prime Healthgroup for establishing this Life Training Center which is vital for the training of ground level staff in CPR and Heartsaver. The centre has the capability of providing high quality life support training which will save precious lives in UAE.”
During the inauguration, Dr Jamil Ahmed received the certification from the American Heart Association for the Training Center. He said: “It is indeed an honour to be certified by the American Heart Association. The opening of the Prime Hospital Life Support Training Center is part of our commitment to offer quality education for quality patient care. The center will provide high quality training to individuals and professionals in our continued endeavor to save lives.”
“The courses and programmes are in line with the American Health Association practice and standards and approved by several Dubai government health agencies so participants who will finish their courses are secured and satisfied that they will be able to contribute to the welfare of the community,” he added.
The course offered to healthcare providers such as physicians, nurses, technicians, paramedics and other allied healthcare professionals is called Basic Life Support (BLS). The course is designed to teach those who need to know how to perform CPR, as well as other lifesaving skills in a wide variety of in-hospital and out-of-hospital settings.
For the non-medical community, the courses offered are Heart Savers First Aid CPR AED, Heartsaver First Aid, Heartsaver CPR AED, Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid CPR AED, Teaching CPR in Schools and Family & Friends CPR. The courses have different durations and are open to anyone with limited or no medical training or those who need a completion card in first aid to meet job, regulatory or other requirements.
All programmes are approved by Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services and satisfy the DHA Hospital Regulation 2012, DHA Outpatient care regulation 2012, DHA Day Surgical Center regulations 2012, and Dubai Municipality safety guidelines.
Training sessions are held in state-of-the-art training environment which includes both practical and theoretical styles of learning. Effective team working is encouraged and developed by instructors to improve the effectiveness of course delivery and enhances the learning outcomes of all participants.
