Dr. Eva Simkova is Consultant Paediatric Nephrologist at Al Jalila Children’s. Dr. Simkova graduated from Charles University in Prague, and prior post-graduation, obtained a Diploma in Paediatrics, and then specialized in Nephrology and Paediatric Nephrology. Post training, she worked for more than 10 years at the University Hospital Motol in Prague as Consultant Paediatric Nephrologist and latterly as the Head of Paediatric Dialysis Unit.
In 2006 she joined the Royal Hospital for Sick Children in Belfast as a Consultant Paediatric Nephrologist and in 2011 she accepted a position as Consultant Paediatric Nephrologist at Dubai Hospital and as Senior Lecturer at the Dubai Medical College where she worked until joining Al Jalila Children’s.
During her career, Dr. Simkova has taken part in many multi-centre studies on renal transplant and chronic renal failure in children, and is currently involved in PodoNet, IPPDN and aHUS registry. Dr. Simkova has many manuscripts in peer reviewed medical journals. Her major interest is the treatment of chronic renal failure in children, especially peritoneal dialysis.
