Dr Syed Arshad Husain is an experienced Consultant Respiratory Physician with more than 3 decades of clinical experience working in the United Kingdom in the National Health Service (NHS).
He completed his Batchelor degree in Medicine and Surgery in 1988, then did his MRCP (Membership of the Royal College of Physician) UK in 1996, he was awarded the (FRCP) Fellowship by the Royal college of Physicians and Surgeons UK and the Fellowship College of Chest Physicians (FCCP) USA. He completed his Certification in General internal medicine (GIM) / Elderly care Medicine from Oxford region in 2002 and in 2005, he completed his Certificate of specialist training in Respiratory medicine in the South-west region, with Out of program experience in Interventional bronchoscopy and Respiratory medicine at the Royal Brompton Hospital London 2004-2005. He furthered his training in Interventional Bronchoscopy and Medical Thoracoscopy in 2005 with a Fellowship in University of Lille, France.
Dr Husain worked as a Consultant Respiratory Physician in Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells (MTW) NHS Trust, UK for last 15 years and also served as an Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer Kings College London. He remained a Consultant appraiser for the MTW Trust. He worked as a Training Program Director (TPD) for the Kent Sussex and Surrey Deanery from 2014 till 2018. As a Trust Innovation Lead, he set up the new Endobronchial Ultrasound Transbronchial Needle Aspiration biopsy services (EBUS-TBNA) with Rapid onsite cytology slide evaluation (ROSE) for mediastinal lymph node enlargement in diagnosing and staging lung and other cancers, this also helped patients with Sarcoidosis, TB and Lymphoma.
