Dr. Razia Sharafudeen

Dr Razia Sharafudeen serves as a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist in NMC Royal Women’s Hospital, Abu Dhabi.

Dr Razia is one of the most popular Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in Abu Dhabi with nearly 20 years of clinical experience in her chosen specialty. She is very passionate about Obstetrics. Adept at caring for patients of diverse backgrounds and in settings of varying acuity.

She is a Fellow as well as Member of the Royal College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, UK (FRCOG, MRCOG), she is a Member of Federation of Obstetric and Gynaecological Societies of India (FOGSI), Member of Indian Society for Assisted Reproduction (ISAR) and Member of the Word Association of Laparoscopic Surgeons (WALS). Additionally, she has also attained Fellowship in Minimal Access Surgery (F.MAS) and Fellowship in Reproductive Medicine and Infertility (FRM) after MBBS and post-graduation from Government Medical College, Trivandrum, India.

Her main interests are High Risk Obstetrics, Medical disorders in pregnancy, Recurrent pregnancy loss / Early pregnancy loss, Reproductive medicine/ Infertility management, General Gynaecology, Minimally invasive procedures and Vaginal surgeries (Cosmetic and Uterovaginal prolapse surgeries).

She is an expert in managing normal, complicated and operative vaginal deliveries, preterm deliveries, vaginal birth after caesarean and previous caesarean deliveries. She worked as a lead Obstetrician in a tertiary level maternity unit in Saudi Arabia for nine years before joining NMC Royal Women's Hospital, Abu Dhabi. She has gained extensive experience in managing vaginal birth after caesarean (VBAC) and has expertise in operating on women with multiple previous caesarean sections / surgeries.
