Dr Ritu Khare has been practicing at various hospitals in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, since the past 18 years, focusing on surgical issues in women.
She specializes in minimal access surgery or laparoscopic surgery. She is an expert in abdominal wall hernia repairs and reconstruction of the abdominal wall. One of her main areas of focus has been addressing ventral hernia in multiparous women with a loose abdominal wall. Complex cases of large abdominal wall defects and recurrent hernia have also been her niche.
She has a special interest and is well known for her expertise in pancreatobiliary surgery. She has performed a large number of surgeries for chronic pancreatitis in the region. She has been trained at the Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute in India, which is one of the centres of excellence in complex hepatobiliary procedures, including chronic pancreatitis and bile duct injuries. She has used her experience to treat and operate similar cases in the UAE.
Dr Khare was adjudged as the “Young Surgeon of the year” finalist at the Arab Health Awards in the year 2012. Since the last 15 years, she has been actively involved in breast oncology, and has been committed to raising awareness for women’s health issues including breast cancer through various social forums. She is a member of the American Society of Breast Surgeons and has been working as part of a multidisciplinary team in the treatment of breast cancer, helping many survivors to live long and happy lives.

A pleasure to be able to find the level of commitment and care as shown by the doctor. Having visited many surgeons earlier, I was still unable understand the problem in my colon. She not only discussed the issues of rectal prolapse but also performed the laparoscopic surgery with great care. I am still on her follow up. Colorectal surgeons are not found in this area especially highly trained female surgeons. Go Bless her and her team.
