Dr Samina Dornan is our experienced senior physician, Obstetrician, Gynaecologist and Lead Sub-Specialist in Maternal Fetal Medicine (MFM) at King’s College Hospital, Dubai Hills, having joined us from the consultant staff of the Regional Fetal Medicine Unit at the Royal Maternity Hospital, Belfast, U.K.
Having obtained her Sub-Specialisation in Maternal Fetal Medicine in 2009 from the British Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, Dr Dornan was first appointed as a Consultant at the busy, ethnically and socially diverse St George’s Hospital, London where she was the lead clinician for high risk antenatal mothers including those with multiple births and diabetes.
In September 2011, she moved to the Regional Fetal Medicine Unit in Belfast as a Consultant in MFM to continue her strong interest in multiple births where she worked closely with her colleagues to transform the regional care of multiple birth patients.
Dr Dornan is a member of many influential organizations and currently the elected president of the European Club for Fetal Surgery. She believes that all mothers should be given the full range of treatment choices, including fetal surgery where clinically appropriate, when faced with a diagnosis of a serious structural anomaly in their fetus(es).
She has an extensive CV with many important academic publications and is well known internationally as a thought-provoking and entertaining speaker.
She continues to work tirelessly with women and their families to maximize safety where there is a high-risk pregnancy but above all, she considers herself a women’s rights champion. She is particularly proud to be a member of the International Women for Women organization, the “Belizean Grove.”
Despite her very busy schedule and the large number of women that she cares for, she passionately believes every woman should be treated as “special" and that she provides that "very service”.
