Dr. Hasan Mohammed Al Mahdi

Dr. Hasan Mohammed Al Mahdi is a Vascular Surgery Consultant at Gulf Diagnostic Center Hospital. Dr. Hasan’s experience in both traditional as well as the latest minimally invasive endovascular techniques has helped the hospital always live up to the expectations of its patients. As an international recognized expert, Dr. Hasan has completed his education and fellowship from several prestigious institutions.

With over 40 years of experience as a Professor of Vascular surgery at the Cairo University (Egypt), Munich University (Germany), St. George Medical School (UK) and in Paris (France), Dr. Hasan’s contribution to the medical field is phenomenal. Dr. Hasan He established vascular surgery in the UAE in 1998 and has worked as Head of Surgical Department in many hospitals in Abu Dhabi, including Mafraq Hospital and our very own GDC, where he also headed the Vascular Department and served as Medical Director from 2008-09.

Dr. Hasan is a Member of the European Vascular Society (ESVS ID 1655), International Society of Cardiovascular Surgery, Organ Transplantation Authority (Egypt), Trauma Organization (Egypt), Angiology Committee (MENA) and International Society on Thrombosis and Haemostasis.

His core areas of clinical interest include:

• Arterial problems, e.g. chronic ischemia, diabetic foot and gangrene, arterial malformation, aneurysms, peripheral arterial disease, thoracic outlet syndrome and bypass surgery, etc.
• Venous problems- varicose veins, hemangioma, thrombosis, malformation, DVT and its complication, etc.
• Lymphatic problems- all kinds of lymphaedema, upper and lower limbs and swollen limbs, and complications.
• Vascular surgery for renal failure patient (all ages), peritoneal catheters, Angioaccess for hemodialysis, angioaccess for cancer patients
• Angioccess for cases of erectile dysfunction related to vascular disease

In addition to his clinical interests, Dr. Hasan’s brilliant linguistic skills in English and Arabic make him a support system for all branches of surgery at the hospital. Dr. Hasan’s outstanding researching and publication work includes
