Dr. Louay completed his MD in Medicine and Surgery from Damascus University, Syria in 1988. Subsequently, he pursued a Certificate of Completion in Higher Surgical Training in Orthopedics from the Damascus University in 1992. Thereafter, Dr. Louay trained extensively for 1 year at the Damascus University Teaching Hospitals in 1983. Dr. Louay was awarded Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS) in 1999. He also holds travelling fellowships in well-known hospitals spanning the UK, France, South Africa and USA. Dr. Louay is also certified in ATLS (Advanced Trauma Life Support).

Dr. Louay practiced extensively in his home country Syria until 1994, specializing in Orthopedics. After 1994, he moved to the United Kingdom (UK) where he attained his Fellowship from the Royal College of Surgeons. In 1999, Dr. Louay moved to Abu Dhabi, UAE where he practiced as a Specialist in Orthopedics at a top government hospital in which he also pursued a 2 year fellowship specializing in Upper Limb Surgery. In 2010, Dr. Louay became a Consultant in Upper Limb and Sport Orthopedic Surgery at the same hospital.Dr. Louay has more than 20 years of experience in his field. His key areas of interest include Upper Limbs cases, Trauma and Sport Injuries.

He has attended a number of conferences worldwide as both a presenter and participant. Dr. Louay has also authored notable research papers which have been published in reputed medical journals.
