Prior to joining Mediclinic in 2009, Dr. Alassaad was an orthopaedic surgeon in hospitals in Saudi Arabia and Aleppo, Syria. In Aleppo, he was Head of the Orthopaedic Department at Al Razi Hospital, Aleppo's largest surgical, emergency and educational hospital, sponsored by Ministry of Health, with 200 beds, 60 of which are for orthopaedic surgery. He was also Head of the Aleppo Medical Association between 1994 and 2006.
Dr. Alassaad graduated from Aleppo University in 1981 and undertook further studies in the former Soviet Union.
