Dr. Ashley Alwood

Dr. Ashley Alwood, MD, is a Staff Physician in the Emergency Medicine Institute at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi.

Prior to joining Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, Dr. Alwood served as an Attending Physician in the department of Emergency Medicine at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, Illinois, US. There she was responsible for clinical care and stabilization of patients in the Emergency Department, as well as teaching and supervision of Family Medicine, Internal Medicine and Emergency Medicine Residents.

She obtained her medical degree from the University of Washington Medical School in Seattle, Washington, US, before completing further training in Emergency Medicine at the University of Chicago, Chicago, US. During her residency, she underwent training to become a Flight Physician and was responsible for helicopter transport of critically ill or injured patients, from newborns to adults.

Dr. Alwood is board certified by the American Board of Emergency Medicine (ABEM). Her professional interests include medical education, medical simulation, critical care transport and ultrasound.
