Dr. Brian K. Armstrong, MD, is a Staff Physician in the Eye Institute at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi. Prior to joining Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, Dr. Armstrong was an Assistant Chief of the Department of Ophthalmology at the Mid-Atlantic Permanente Medical Group, Washington, DC and Maryland, US.
Dr. Armstrong received his medical degree from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, Nashville, Tennessee, US. He completed his residency in Ophthalmology in the Vanderbilt Eye Institute at the Vanderbilt University Medical Center, Nashville, Tennessee, US. He completed his fellowship in Cornea, External Disease and Refractive Surgery in Cole Eye Institute at Cleveland Clinic, Ohio, US.
He is a member of many professional organizations. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, as well as a member of the European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons and the International Society of Refractive Surgery. He was honored by the International Society of Refractive Surgery for his contributions as a young investigator to academic ophthalmology and refractive surgery.
He specializes in cataract surgery, corneal transplantations, ocular surface disease and refractive surgery, including LASIK, PRK and intraocular lens based solutions. Dr. Armstrong has performed thousands of eye surgeries, including corneal transplantations, cataract surgeries and refractive eye surgeries.
