Dr. Benazir Hakkim

Dr. Benazir Hakkim, MD, MRCGP, is a Staff Physician in the Medical Subspecialities Institute ​at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi.

Prior to joining Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, Dr. Hakkim was working as a Consultant Family Medicine Physician ​in the National Health Service, UK running her own family practice clinic in Coventry, UK (Holyhead Surgery, Coventry).

She has extensive experience with management of chronic diseases like Hypertension, Asthma, COPD and Diabetes. She has a special interest in Women’s Health and has obtained the DRCOG (Royal college of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, UK) and DFSRH (Diploma of the Faculty Of Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare). She has also completed the Post Graduate Certificate in Diabetes from Leicester, UK and has a special interest in the management of Diabetes.

Dr. Hakkim received her medical degree from the Academy of Medical Sciences, University of Calicut, in Kerala, India in 2002. She obtained her Certificate of Completion of training in General Practice (Family Medicine) in 2010 after doing her training in West Midlands Deanery, United Kingdom. She also obtained the MRCGP UK from the Royal College of General Practitioners as part of completion of her training.

Dr. Hakkim resides in Abu Dhabi with her husband and three children. She enjoys trying out new recipes, reading and meeting new people.
