Dr. Andrew L. Rivard, MD, MS, is a Staff Physician in the Imaging Institute and Heart and Vascular Institute at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi. In his role as Section Head of Cardiac Imaging, Dr. Rivard is responsible for leading a team of experts in the imaging and diagnosis of cardiovascular disease.

Prior to joining Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, Dr. Rivard spent five years at the University of Mississippi, where he was an Assistant Professor and Director of Cardiac Imaging. He developed the first program in the State of Mississippi providing complex pediatric congenital heart and adult cardiac imaging using CT and MRI.

Dr. Rivard brings a wealth of knowledge to Abu Dhabi with personalized patient care, organization and leadership in radiology. His extensive research background includes experience as a principle investigator of multiple large research trials. He has written over thirty peer-reviewed publications in basic science, pre-clinical and clinical research in wide range of topics including importance of patient centric care to 3D printing.

Dr. Rivard earned his undergraduate and medical degrees at the University of Minnesota. He also has a master's degree in cardiac physiology from the University of Minnesota. He trained in general surgery at the Geisinger Medical Center and completed a diagnostic radiology residency with a specific focus on cardiac imaging at the University of Florida, Gainesville, USA.

Dr. Rivard resides in Abu Dhabi with his wife and daughter. He enjoys being with his family, sailing in nice weather, cycling, listening to classical music and traveling to unique destinations.
