Initially conceptualized by ten Qatari businessmen in1989, Al-Ahli Hospital in Doha was sketched as a 100-bed profit-based hospital to specialize in Pediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynecology. After a year of project envisage, this motivated private group of shareholders approached his highness the Emir Sheikh khalifa Bin Hamad Al-Thani for his assistance; and in 1990 several hectares of land located in Ahmed Bin Ali street (its present location) was awarded to them by the government of Qatar conditional to building a new healthcare facility. The current managing director and Chief Executive Officer of Medicare Group and Al-Ahli Hospital, Mr. Abdulwahed Al-Mawlawi, was elected by the Board of Directors on the 2nd of April 2006. With his vast experience in senior management and healthcare, Mr.Al-Mawlawi introduced the concept of Love as the ultimate value of Al-Ahli Hospital.

I'd like to add a brief review about Al Ahli as well. I have had both good and average experience with them. They've got some of the best doctors - no doubt, but it is utterly painful to sit and wait until someone actually attends to you. Apart from the waiting time and parking woes, all else seems great here.

I agree with Vinod, other than they're lack of parking, the hospital is probably the best in Qatar. They've got a lot of very qualified doctors and i've noticed how they always try and stay abreast of the latest medical technologies & equipment.

Other than their lack of parking space, i believe Ahli is a great hospital. They are easy to get to and their doctors are probably some of the best in Doha.

Great hospital, easy to get to, accessible parking space and most importantly, they have probably got some of the most professional doctors in Qatar.
