Alan Smit

Dr. Smit completed graduate studies at the University of the Witwatersrand obtaining his MBBcH in 1980. He obtained Fellowship in Anaesthesia from the College of Medicine South Africa in 1991, completed registrar training at hospitals attached to the University of the Witwatersrand.

Dr. Smit joined SKMC in 2001 as a Consultant in Aneathesia. Prior to SKMC, he worked as a consultant in anaesthesia at Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital and lecturer at the University of the Witwatersrand in July 1991. During this time he also ran a limited private anaesthesia practice, focused largely on orthopaedic and trauma anaesthesia.
