Dr. Alexandra Economacos Kalliatakis

Dr. Alex's expertise is in the interpretation of film and digital mammography, breast ultrasound, breast MRI and all interventional breast procedures that are very helpful in obviating the need for unnecessary surgical intervention. Dr. Alex performs sonographic aspirations or breast core biopsies, for palpable or sonographically visualised breast masses, stereotactic vacuum-assisted biopsies using a Mammotome for impalpable lesions, sonographic and mammographic hook wire placements pre –breast surgery, and tumour marker localisations. These procedures assist in the early diagnosis of breast cancer and aid in the continued follow-up of patients as they undergo the necessary treatments to survive the disease.
