Dr. Asim Malik, MD, is a Staff Physician in the Medical Subspecialties Institute at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi. Prior to joining Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, Dr. Malik was Chief of Infectious Diseases and Chairman of Infection Control at Mafraq Hospital in Abu Dhabi.

Dr. Malik received his medical degree from Dow University of Health Sciences in Pakistan and completed his residency at Harlem Hospital Center of Columbia University in New York, USA. Dr. Malik then went on to complete his fellowship in Infectious Diseases at the George Washington University Medical Center in Washington, DC, USA.

Throughout his tenure, Dr. Malik has specialized in management of infections with drug resistant pathogens, in addition to infections in critically ill and immune compromised patients. Dr. Malik has provided leadership in hospital infection control and quality & patient safety at various organizations

Currently, Dr. Malik resides in Abu Dhabi with his wife and three children. When he is not working, Dr. Malik enjoys reading history and biographies.
