Chandan Lala

Dr. Chandan Lala has over 30 years of professional experience in the field of Orthopedics. He received his MBBS at Bhopal University, India in 1981 and completed his Diploma in Orthopedics from the same university in 1983. He then took his Fellowship from the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh, UK in 1994 (FRCS Ed) and an honorary Fellowship from the Royal College of Surgeons of Glasgow in 2011.

In the span of his career, Dr. Chandan has worked in various countries including UK, Ireland, UAE, and India. In Ireland, he has been affiliated with hospitals such as Mayo General Hospital, Castlebar; Regional Orthopedic Hospital, Limerick; and Tralee General Hospital. In UK, he has assumed posts in known hospitals such as Glan Clwyd Hospital, Rhyl; Yeovil District Hospital, Yeovil; Victoria Hospital, Blackpool; Mayday University Hospital, Croydon; and Royal London Hospital, London. In 2003, he moved to the UAE to continue his medical practice as a Consultant Orthopedic Surgeon in large private hospitals based in Sharjah and Abu Dhabi.

To his credit, Dr. Chandan has independently and satisfactorily performed many orthopedic procedures including knee arthroscopy, shoulder arthroscopy, pediatric surgery, and total joint replacement. His passion for learning prompted him to assume teaching posts in UK, Ireland, UAE, in addition to his medical practice. His participation in research includes orthopedic studies published in Cairo, Egypt in 2005 and in Munich, Germany in 2007.

Dr. Chandan is a member of the panel of examiners for IMRCS Examinations at the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons, Glasgow, UK; an international member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons; and a life member of the Indian Orthopedic Association. He speaks fluent English, Arabic, Hindi, and Bengali.
