Dr. Ahmad Nusair, MD, obtained his medical degree from Jordan University of Science and Technology in 1997. He did his internship in internal medicine and worked as a Trauma House Officer between 1998 and 2002. In 2005, Dr. Nusair completed training in Internal Medicine at Western Reserve Care System, Northeast Ohio Medical University. Upon completion of his Fellowship in Infectious Diseases in the combined program at Creighton University and the University of Nebraska Medical Center in 2007, Dr. Nusair joined the faculty at Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine, Marshall University in Huntington, WV. Dr. Nusair returned to Marshall University in 2011 after completing his fellowship training in Critical Care Medicine at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. He was promoted to Associate Professor in 2011.

In addition to his academic and clinical responsibilities at Marshall University, Dr. Nusair served as the Chief for the section of Infectious Diseases at Marshal University. He also served as the medical director for Infection Control and Antimicrobial Stewardship Program and the medical director for the Intensive Care Unit at the affiliated institution, Cabell-Huntington Hospital.

Dr. Nusair received many awards for excellence in Clinical Mentoring and Practice. He is an active member of a number of national and international medical societies. Dr. Nusair is recognized as a fellow of prestigious medical societies, namely, The American College of Physicians, The Infectious Diseases Society of America and The Society for Healthcare Epidemiology of America.

Dr. Nusair has numerous academic contributions including peer-reviewed publications, multiple national and international presentations, as well as lectures and research projects in infectious diseases and critical care medicine. His special interests include device related infections and quality improvement and resource utilization in the critical care setting.​​​​​​
