Through his work as a member of the Imperial College London Diabetes Technology group in the UK, he was awarded a PhD degree in the fields of continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) and glycaemic variability. He was at the forefront of research to develop a novel continuous glucose sensor aiming to improve the lives of type 1 diabetes patients. His clinical and academic interests are type 1 diabetes, glycaemic variability and application of new technologies including insulin pump therapy, continuous glucose monitoring and artificial pancreas research.
