Dr. Alex Roman

Dr. Alex Roman, MD, is an Associate Staff Physician in the Neurological Institute​ at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, with experience in different areas of the neurosurgical field.
Prior to joining Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, Dr. Roman worked and studied in different countries and continents, with a full grasp of the distinct scenarios of neurosurgery, as the ongoing development of expertise and knowledge has contributed to his rising career.

Dr. Roman has studied in important neurosurgical centers of North America, such as New York University (Langone Medical Center), and Europe, Tübingen, Germany (Universitätsklinikum Tübingen). He has also pursued his education in his homeland Southern Brazil, having had the opportunity to learn with great experts of the field throughout his specialization.

With a varied language skill development, he has always brought great commitment to his patients’ well-being above all else, merging with new technological advances in the neurosurgical field of expertise, to provide the best possible care at all times.

Dr. Roman participates as an active member of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons (AANS) and Sociedade Brasilia de Neurocirurgia (SBN), contributing with presentations in annual meetings. As a member, he is able to share his distinct working experience, as well as acquire further knowledge from his fellow distinguished colleagues.

He has, been performing various surgical procedures and taken preceptorship since a rather young age. He also had the opportunity to teach others, as well as keep his enthusiasm for continuous learning and progress, contributing as a professor of anatomy and neuroanatomy in his homeland.
