Dr. Ali Bakir

Notably, US trained endocrinologist Dr Ali Bakir is the main researcher of the study that first called attention to the nation’s high prevalence to diabetes. He spent seven years in America as the Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine at the Department of Endocrinology at Texas Tech University. Extensively experienced in thyroid disease, he previously led the Endocrinology Department at Mafraq Hospital. Many of our patients have been under the care of Dr Bakir since the Abu Dhabi centre opened in 2006. He was elected to ICLDC's Medical Board in 2013.
