Prof. Dr. Ahmed is a Professor of Geriatric Medicine. He is a Dutch Board double certified Consultant Geriatrician & Clinical Pharmacologist with over 15 years of clinical experience in different hospitals in the Netherlands. Professor Amir Ahmed received his MD from the Russian State Medical University (Moscow), as well as from, Leiden University (the Netherlands).

His career has been shaped by his interest in Geriatric Medicine and Clinical Pharmacology and he pursued his clinical training in both fields at the Radboud University Medical Center in Nijmegen, the Netherlands. He is a PhD (Doctor of Philosophy) holder. His PhD thesis titled Clinical Pharmacology of Oral Tetrahydrocannabinol in Older People with Dementia (Radboud University, the Netherlands).

Professor Amir Ahmed has broad interests in geriatric medicine, ranging from management of age-related chronic complex diseases, falls and fracture prevention, to dementia and its related neuropsychiatric symptoms, and old age psychiatry. Teaching and Research have featured prominently for him and he has authored several research papers in international journals including the Journal of the American Geriatrics Society, Neurology, and Clinical Pharmacology & Therapeutics. He is a frequent national and international guest speaker at various training centers and conferences.
