Dr. Amr El Shawarbi

Prof. Amr El Shawarbi completed his MBBch from Alexandria University 1992, and did his residency and got his Master degree of Surgery/ Neurosurgery and worked as an Assistant Lecturer in 1998. He later went on to do his scholarship/ Fellowship and Ph.D. in Nordstadt Hospital in Hannover, Germany. He got his Ph.D. / MD in Neurosurgery in 2003 and the Facharzt (German Board for Neurosurgery) from lower Saxony Ak. Niedersachsen.

He worked as a Consultant Neurosurgeon at the International Neuroscience Institute in Hannover, Germany until October 2006. Prof. El Shawarbi joined as the Head of Neurosurgery Department in Tawam Hospital in November 2006, and later became the Medical Director for Neuroscience in SEHA, where he developed the skull base surgery, complex spine surgery, establishment of the first stroke program in SEHA, pediatric neurosurgery, and Neuromodulation. Professor El Shawarbi was also the President of the Emirates Neuroscience Society, the President of the Pan Arab Neurosurgical Society, and currently the Vice President of The WFNS (World Federation of Neurosurgical Societies). He has many national and international publications.
