Dr. Anselma Ferrao has obtained her MBBS from Kasturba Medical College, Manipal and MD in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in year 1990. She also obtained her Diploma in Obstetrics and Gynaecology from Kasturba Medical College in 1989. She became a member of prestigious Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, London in 1998 and got her fellowship (FRCOG) in the year 2011.

She has a special interest in high-risk obstetrics, preterm deliveries, labour ward management, maternal medicine and general gynaecology. She has done several courses including Advanced Life Support in Obstetrics, Endometrial Ablation and Balloon Therapy, Medical Obstetric Emergencies and Trauma, Advanced Laparoscopy and Hysteroscopy.

Dr. Anselma speaks English, Hindi, Urdu, Konkani, Kannada and Tulu and basic Arabic.

She worked in Corniche Hospital, Abu Dhabi for 18 years before joining NMC - the largest private hospital group in Abu Dhabi, UAE. Presently she is the Medical Director of NMC Royal Women’s Hospital. She is interested in clinical research and has presented in several national and international conferences and published articles in various international journals.
