Dr. Ashish Kumar

Dr. Ashish Kumar, MD, is an Associate Staff Physician ​in the Anesthesiology Institute at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi.

Prior to joining Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, Dr. Kumar was as a Specialist Anesthesiologist at Burjeel Hospital, Abu Dhabi from 2015 to 2017. He was also an Attending Consultant in Anesthesia at two large private multispecialty hospitals in New Delhi, India. Namely, Fortis Memorial Research Institute from 2014 to 2015 and Max Devki Devi Superspeciality Hospital from 2013 to 2014.

From 2010 to 2013, Dr. Kumar was a Senior Resident in the Department of Anesthesia in the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, during which he was also involved in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching. His passion for his job and interest in academics earned him the prestigious Col. G. C. Tandon Medal for Best Senior Resident in Anesthesia in 2013.

Dr. Kumar received his medical degree from Gauhati Medical College in Assam, India in 2005. After completing his internship in 2006, he received his postgraduation degree in 2010. He then pursued another postgraduation degree in Anesthesia and Critical Care at the same institute in 2017.

Dr. Kumar has vast experience in general anesthesia, regional anesthesia, intensive care and neuroanesthesia. His key areas of interest are pediatric anesthesia, ultrasound guided nerve blocks, acute pain management and labour analgesia.

Dr. Kumar currently lives in Abu Dhabi with his wife and son. He is an avid reader and likes listening to music.
