Dr. Belkeis Altareb

Dr. Belkeis Altareb has over 25 years of academic and practical experience in counseling psychology, and as a leader in a local university.

She holds a PhD in Counseling Psychology from the USA, and is licensed in Dubai and the state of Michigan. She is a native of California, with Arab and Hispanic heritage. She made Dubai her home in 1999 where she continues to live and add value to the community.

While her primary academic focus has been on attitudes, identity, and family structures and relationships, her clinical work has spanned trauma, loss, youth delinquency, marital and intergenerational conflict, identity, balance, and depression. Different modalities are used in the therapeutic journey, each individualized for every unique experience and story. She is driven by the belief that every willing person has the innate ability to heal themselves with the appropriate support.
