Dr. Burak Yagmur Ozturk

Dr. Burak Yagmur Ozturk is a U.S. trained orthopedic surgeon who specializes in treatment of patients with shoulder problems. He is a recognized physician for his active career both clinically and academically, in contributing to the treatment of patients with various shoulder conditions, as well as on the court, in taking care of professional sports teams.

Dr. Ozturk is a US ECFMG-board certified surgeon with a clinical fellowship training in Orthopaedic Sports Medicine & Shoulder Surgery at world’s top-ranking hospital in orthopedics, Hospital for Special Surgery in New York. Having worked as the medical director of the EuroLeague champion Fenerbahce Beko basketball team in 2019-20 season, Dr Ozturk is still on board as the orthopedic consultant for Fenerbahce, helping in the care of basketball players. He also continues to serve as a team doctor for the Turkish National Basketball Team. Throughout his career, Dr Ozturk served as the team doctor in numerous amateur, collegiate and professional level sports clubs and organizations including New York Red Bulls in Major League Soccer and St John’s University Athletics, NY in the US and various national premier division handball teams, as well as the National Handball and Basketball Federations.

Dr Ozturk has extensive experience in diagnosis and treatment of all shoulder conditions, including shoulder instability, biceps tendon problems, labral pathologies, rotator cuff tears, AC joint problems, frozen shoulder, proximal humerus/clavicle/scapular fractures and shoulder arthritis. He is a recognized physician in shoulder surgery with over 50 peer-reviewed research articles, scientific presentations, book chapters, editorships for chapter translations, case reports and surgical technique papers including his modified technique for superior capsular reconstruction used in treatment of irreparable, massive rotator cuff tears. Presently, he continues to serve as a faculty instructor in the national and international surgical skills & instructional courses for the surgeons from all around the world.
