Dr. Carelyn de Kock

Carelyn de Kock is a Clinical Psychologist joining ACPN from Centurion, South Africa. She obtained her Master’s in Clinical Psychology from the North-West University’s Potchefstroom Campus in South Africa in 2008. She obtained her Bachelor’s and Honor’s degrees from the same University in 2005 and 2006 respectively. At present, Mrs. De Kock is registered with HAAD and the HPCSA (Health Professions Council of South Africa).

Mrs. De Kock has more than eight years’ experience in private practice and in-patient clinical settings. Prior to her move to Abu Dhabi in 2017, she was employed in neurological and spinal rehabilitation units, including Care@Midstream in Centurion, and Life Healthcare Riverfield Lodge, in Randburg. Here she gained experience in neuropsychological assessment, and performed counselling and psychoeducation with individuals and families affected by adverse life events such as spinal cord injuries, stroke, GBS, dementia, chronic medical conditions and traumatic brain injuries. Her private practice included the treatment of mood disorders (e.g. depression), personality disorders, and anxiety disorders (e.g. panic disorders).

Mrs. De Kock provides psychological services to adults and adolescents. She follows an integrative approach to psychotherapy which includes CBT, EMDR, hypnosis and other modalities suited to the client’s presentation.
