Dr. Christine Dackiw

​Dr. Christine Dackiw, MD, FEBO, is an Associate Staff Physican in the Eye Institute at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi. Prior to joining Cleveland Clinic in Abu Dhabi, Dr. Dackiw was a Senior Registrar with the Medical Retina Team at Dubai Hospital.

Dr. Dackiw graduated from Semmelweis University, Budapest, Hungary in 2000. She completed her residency in Ophthalmology at Klinikum Frankfurt-Höchst, Germany - Head of Department, Professor Dr. med. Claus Eckardt. Her experience includes general opthalmology, with an emphasis on retinology, refractive ophthalmology, laser treatments and minor surgical operations. During this period, she was also a Consulting Doctor in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit for ROP screening. She also participated in cornea transplant bank management.

She worked at Augenzentrum Bad Kreuznach, Germany, in a private Surgical Ophthalmology practice with primary responsibility for General Ophthalmology and Medical Retina. Dr. Dackiw is German Board Qualified in Ophthalmology (Facharzt) and is a Fellow of the European Board of Ophthalmology (FEBO).​

Dr. Dackiw is married with three children and has been residing in the UAE since August 2009, initially in Abu Dhabi and more recently in Dubai. Prior to relocating to the UAE, Dr. Christine lived in Prague, Czech Republic. Dr. Dackiw is originally from Germany and is fluent in German, English and Hungarian.
