Dr. Ciarán Browne, MBBCh, is a Staff Physician in the Emergency Medicine Institute at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi. Prior to joining Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, Dr. Browne worked as an Emergency Medicine Consultant at St. James’s Hospital in Dublin, Ireland.
Dr. Browne was born and raised in Ireland, where he completed medical school at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI). He pursued Emergency Medicine training in the all-Ireland training scheme, and was awarded the Fellowship of the College of Emergency Medicine in 2011 and his Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training in 2012.
During his training, Dr. Browne also completed focused secondments in Intensive Care Medicine at Cork University Hospital, Ireland, Emergency Ultrasound at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York, US and spent a year as a resident on the Harvard Affiliated Emergency Medicine Residency at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, US.
His professional interests include focused emergency ultrasound, disaster medicine, trauma and medical education. He is an experienced instructor and course director for the European Trauma Course and has taught throughout Europe and in Egypt. He is currently completing his thesis for the European Masters in Disaster Medicine.
Dr. Browne lives in Abu Dhabi with his wife and four children.
