Dr. Clare Shryane

Ms. Clare Shryane qualified as a Chartered Physiotherapist in 1982 from Salford in Manchester UK. She then worked in several large teaching hospitals in the UK in order to gain experience in the different areas of Physiotherapy, including Nobles Hospital Isle of Man, for acute trauma experience with the TT motorbike races.

In 1988 Ms. Shryane came to Abu Dhabi, and has been here ever since, working in private clinics with some of the renowned Orthopaedic surgeons in the city.

Her main interest and experience have been in Orthopaedics, musculo-skeletal conditions, sports injuries etc, and her career interest goes hand in hand with her leisure interests. Ms. Shryane enjoys squash and tennis, and she plays and umpires in the local Netball league as well. She is also the only female referee in the area for the Rugby Union. As a referee, Ms. Shryane has had the opportunity to travel in the local region, as well as visit Hong Kong, Singapore, and Kazakhstan.

Her participation in sport gives her an appreciation of the mechanics involved with many of the injuries she treats, including the frustration felt by the participants when their activities are curtailed due to injury.

Ms. Shryane tries to maintain a professional relationship with both her clients and their referring doctors, so that the treatment is fashioned for the patient's needs, and the doctors are kept up to date with progress (or lack of).

Abu Dhabi has been home for a large portion of Ms. Shryane's life, and fortunate for us, she doesn't see herself leaving in the near future.
