Being helped by chiropractic care as a young man inspired me to pursue a career in Chiropractic Medicine. After seven years of training and over eight years in private practice in Minnesota, I accepted the invitation from my friend and colleague, Dr. Troy Amdahl,  to expand Chiropractic to the Middle East.

Dr. Troy practiced in Rochester, a top international health care destination and he had the opportunity to treat a number of patients from the Emirates. The patients were pleased to discover a form of health care that could help eliminate their pain without the use of drugs or the need for surgery.

We shared the professional expertise and vision to establish the specialty of Chiropractic Medicine in the United Arab Emirates.  Many symptoms common to the people of the Middle East (neck pain, headaches, arm symptoms, back pain, muscle spasms, leg symptoms, and disc problems) were previously only given three options: drugs, surgery, or instructions to 'live with it.'  In 2001, Chiropractic Specialty Center was officially recognized and licensed as the first Chiropractic Center in the Emirates by the Federal Ministry of Health.  Because of my many positive experiences and the impact we were making, I remained in the Emirates for 4 years with my family.  After repatriated back to the USA, I continue to return to the Emirates several times per year to spread the Chiropractic message, to assist our Center's staff and Drs, and to promote healthy lifestyles, including the use of Essential Oils.

An Educator

'I feel an important part of being a good doctor is to teach patients certain self-help techniques that will speed their recovery process. We welcome the opportunity to teach office and industrial workers, kids, and people of all walks of life the importance of health and fitness and the prevention of injuries through community lectures. Increased knowledge leads to greater understanding and less apprehension when it comes to discovering chiropractic.  Continued communication and education amongst health professionals leading to increased cooperation. As the different branches of health care learn more about one another, patients will reap the benefit.'
