Dr. Deiar Habib Al-Talabani

Dr. Deiar Habib Al-Talabani is a Consultant in Gastroenterology and Hepatology with over 30 years of experience in providing exception care to his patients. Dr. Deiar graduated from College of Medicine, Baghdad University in 1979. He is board certified in internal medicine and possesses sub-specialty in gastroenterology and hepatology from Baghdad University.

For more than 30 years Dr. Deiar has managed many medical, gastrointestinal, and hepatic disorders. He has worked in Medical City Teaching Hospital, Baghdad, and other teaching hospitals in Iraq. He moved to the UAE in 2007 and has worked in many reputed JCI accredited hospitals and medical centers in Abu Dhabi.

Dr. Deiar has extensive experience in diagnostic and therapeutic upper GIT endoscopy and has performed more than 6000 cases including esophageal variceal sclerotherapy and band ligation, esophageal stricture dilatation, achalasia balloon dilatation, esophageal tumor stenting. Within diagnostic and therapeutic lower GIT endoscopy, he has performed more than 3500 cases in diagnostic colonoscopy, 500 cases polypectomy and 2000 cases ileoscopy. During his illustrious career as Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist he has performed many diagnostic and therapeutic ERCP procedures including sphincterotomy, biliary stenting (plastic and metallic stents), biliary stone extraction, Naso-biliary catheterization, and pyloric stenting. He regularly performs liver biopsies, ultrasound guided fine needle aspiration, diagnostic laparoscopy and fibroscans.
