She believes that there is no health without mental health

Having lived in five different countries, she is aware of and respect the different beliefs and values of people from a variety of backgrounds. She use evidence-based medicine to provide the best possible care to her patients. As no treatment in psychiatry is ‘one size fits all’, she believes in working collaboratively and compassionately with patients and their carers to find the most appropriate treatment for each individual patient.

Background and Experience:​

She worked as a Consultant Psychiatrist in Oxford, UK, for seven years before relocating to UAE. Prior to that, she completed higher specialist training in psychiatry in Oxford Deanery, UK. She is experienced in managing mental health problems of all levels of severity and complexity in adolescents, adults and older people using a variety of approaches including pharmacological and psychological interventions. She has experience in treating mental health conditions in both outpatient and inpatient settings.

She has a special interest and experience in assessment and management of neurodevelopmental disorders such as Autism Spectrum Disorders (including the use of assessment tools ADOS and ADI-R) and mental health problems in those with Intellectual Disability. She also have experience of managing neuro psychiatric disorders such as depression, anxiety and psychosis associated with epilepsy, dementia and sleep disorders.

She has provided teaching and training to psychiatry trainees. She has taken part in research studies and published papers.
