Dr. Favas Thaivalappil

Dr. Favas Thaivalappil is a Consultant in Pulmonology with 24 years’ experience in the medical field. After graduating from India in 1998, he trained in General Internal Medicine at Kent & Sussex Deanery and Oxford Radcliffe Trust, England. He completed his Respiratory Medicine higher specialist training at Wales Deanery, working across Wales from 2008 until 2015. Dr. Favas holds a board certification (CCT) in General Internal Medicine and Respiratory Medicine from 2014. He then completed a Royal College of Physician- accredited Post- CCT Fellowship in Sleep Medicine and Ventilation at Royal Papworth Hospital, Cambridge, a world-leading lung and heart hospital.

Dr. Favas joined Mubadala Health Networks from Swansea Bay University Health Board, UK, where he was a substantiative Consultant Physician in Respiratory Medicine, General Internal Medicine. He was the Clinical Lead for Sleep Medicine and Ventilation services and played a key role in setting up a Non-Invasive Ventilation (NIV) unit and Home Mechanical Ventilation service dedicated to people suffering from breathing failure. He was also the Head of Department for Respiratory Medicine at Morriston Hospital.
