Dr. Hani Abdul Salam (Reviews) Oral Surgeon

Prof. Hani A. Salam is a Canadian-Lebanese oral and maxillofacial surgeon. He graduated as an oral and maxillofacial surgeon (OMFS) from the University of Toronto in Ontario, Canada and obtained his PhD from McGill University, Montreal, Canada in 2001. His PhD focused on the use of electrical stimulation and low energy lasers to stimulate bone healing around dental implants.

Dr. Hani has been offering his services in the Middle East since 2004. He is a consultant oral and maxillofacial surgeon in Saudi Arabia and practices in UAE, and Lebanon as well. Dr. Hani has a unique advantage of combining North American maxillofacial surgical clinical training and academic and research oriented PhD from North America. He had 18 years university education and extensive surgical experience. Dr. Hani combines an active private practice as well as an academic career. His scope of practice includes surgical dental extractions including wisdom teeth, placement of dental implants, bone grafting, orthognathic surgery and reconstructive cosmetic maxillofacial surgery, maxillofacial fractures, cysts, tumors and infections as well as non-surgical and surgical management of temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders including minimally invasive surgery such as arthroscopy of the temporomandibular joint and reconstruction of the TMJ.

Currently, he is a Professor and Program Director of the Postgraduate Oral Surgery and Implantology Program at Maktoum Bin Hamdan Dental University College in Dubai, UAE and a visiting Professor at Beirut Arab University. He is also the Former Director of McGill University Continuing Dental Education in the Middle East & North Africa, a position he occupied between 2006 and 2011.Hani has published in peer-reviewed journals and is a frequent speaker at national and international conferences.

He is a member of the American Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons, the International Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons and the International Association for Dental Research. In addition, he is a Fellow of the International College of Dentists, a speaker of the International Team of Implantology (ITI) and the Director of the ITI study club in Dubai, UAE focusing on the most recent advances in implant dentistry. Hani is very passionate about his work and firmly believes in paying attention to detail and treating patients with compassion, empathy, and honesty.His hobbies include bicycling, playing squash and tennis, swimming and photography.
