Dr. Haytham Saeed Shabayek

Dr. Haytham Saeed Shabayek is a Psychiatry Consultant with more than 20 years of experience. He holds M.B.B.CH from Cairo University, Egypt in 1996 and obtained his Master’s Degree in Psychiatry, Neurology and Addiction Management from the same institute in 2003. He earned his MD and PhD degree in Adult and Child Psychiatry from Al Azhar Cario University in 2013.

Dr. Haytham recently completed another PhD degree in Child and Developmental Psychology from the Atlantic International University, United States.

Dr. Haytham immediately began his career after graduating from the Faculty of Medicine of Cairo University and the Police Academy in Cairo. He started serving as an Officer Doctor and a Resident of the Neuro-Psychiatry Department in the Police Authority Hospitals in Cairo where he continued as a Registrar-Specialist of Psychiatry and Neurology in the same department and eventually became the Vice President of Psychiatry and Neurology Departments for police hospitals in Egypt. At the same time, he served as the Specialist of Psychiatry at Sheik Zayed Specialized Hospital in Giza.

In 2005, he moved to UAE as the Head of Neuro-psychiatry Department in a private hospital in Abu Dhabi. One year later, he joined the Ministry of Health in Sharjah as a Specialist and Head of the Department of Psychiatry where he founded the very first Mental Health and Psychiatry Center in the eastern region of UAE. After 10 years of service at the same area, he moved to join one of the prestigious hospitals in Abu Dhabi under VPS Group where he headed the Psychiatry Department for the following 3 years.

In 2018, Dr. Haytham joined Burjeel Hospital, Abu Dhabi as the Head of Psychiatry Department for children, adolescents and adults. He started several unique major programs in different aspects of mental and psychological health, serving all sectors and age groups in the community.

Dr. Haytham is a member of the American Psychiatric Association, American Academy of Psychiatry and the Law, American Art Therapy Association, UAE Psychiatric Association, Egyptian Psychiatric Association, Egyptian Association of Pediatric Neuro-Psychiatry and Egyptian Syndicate of Medicine – Cairo – Egypt.

His main areas of interest are in General Adult Psychiatry, Child and Adolescence Psychiatry, Geriatric Psychiatry, Management of cases of Addiction, Neuro – Psychiatric disorder, Rehabilitation programs for children and geriatric as well as Marital & Inter-relational Couple Therapy. To his credit, Dr. Haytham has authored several researches and has published in peer-reviewed medical journals in several countries.
