Dr. Hikmat Matar

Dr. Matar graduated from Donetsk Medical University Ukraine in 1987, then he did his internship in Lebanon in 1988 and his residency in the same university in Ukraine in 1992.

In 1993 he defended his Ph.D. in General Surgery –Optimal Surgical Procedure and Intensive care in patients with Obstructive jaundice. Dr. Matar worked as an Assistant Professor; he delivered several lectures of different topics and had several publications and Professional suggestions.

In 1994 Dr. Hikmat Matar started his practice in Abu Dhabi as a Consultant General Surgeon and he was one of the pioneers of Laparoscopic surgery in the private sector in Abu Dhabi. Delivered several lectures, publications and topics regarding general and bariatric surgery. He was selected as an Honorable Member of the WHO’S Who Historical Society 2011. Fellowship American College of Surgeons 2018. A Certified from SRC as Master surgeon in Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery 2018. Certified from European Accreditation Council as Center of Excellence in Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery 2019
