Dr. Hussam Elkambergy

Dr. Hussam Elkambergy, MD, is a Staff Physician in the Critical Care Institute at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi.

Prior to joining Cleveland ​Clinic Abu Dhabi, Dr. Elkambergy was a Senior Staff Physician in the Pulmonary and Critical Care Department at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan, USA. In addition, he worked as a Staff Intensivist at Avera eCare/EICU in Troy, Michigan, USA. Prior to completing his Critical Care Fellowship, Dr. Elkambergy worked as a Staff Physician in Hospital Medicine at St. Luke’s Hospital in Maumee, Ohio, USA.

Dr. Elkambergy received his medical degree from the Komensky University, Martin, Slovakia. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at NHS Scotland, UK and then at Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo, Ohio, USA. He completed his Fellowship in Critical Care Medicine at the St. Louis University/Mercy Hospital St. Louis, Missouri, USA followed by Neurocritical Care Fellowship at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan, USA.

Dr. Elkambergy has research interest in Pulmonary Embolism and helped establish the Pulmonary Embolism Response Team (PERT) during his fellowship at St. Louis University/Mercy Hospital St. Louis. He also has specialty interests in Neurocritical Care and Critical Care Ultrasound.

Dr. Elkambergy resides in Abu Dhabi with his wife and three children. He enjoys playing basketball and traveling with his family.
