Dr. Omar has joined the ACPN from St. George’s University Hospital in London. His career in psychiatry in the UK spans over 14 years. He has been a member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists (MRCPsych) since 2008 and has been working as a consultant psychiatrist in the UK’s National Health Services (NHS) since obtaining his Certificate of Completion (CCT) in adult psychiatry from the General Medical Council (GMC) in 2014. Also, Dr. Omar holds a clinical certificate in psychopharmacology from the British Association of Psychopharmacology.

Dr. Omar is a strong proponent of the holistic approach to treating psychiatric disorders, placing a particular emphasis on the psychological and social aspects of mental illness. He is trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing and family therapy. Dr. Omar possesses a robust background in clinical research and medical education. He holds a Masters degree in Psychiatric Research from the Institute of Psychiatry at King's College London, a PGcert in Health Research from University of Leeds and a PGcert in Medical Education from the University of Westminster in London. Dr. Omar has numerous publications in international journals including a systematic review on psychological therapies for Borderline Personality Disorder, which was published in Personality and Mental Health journal in 2014.

Dr. Omar has extensive clinical experience in managing a wide range of psychiatric disorders with a special interest in personality disorders, psychiatric rehabilitation and adult ADHD.
