Dr. John Peter (JP) McBryde, MD, is a Staff Physician in the Emergency Medicine Institute at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi.

Prior to joining Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, Dr. McBryde was on the faculty at Carolinas Medical Center (CMC), Charlotte, North Carolina, US, for many years as Professor of Emergency Medicine. CMC is a Level 1 Trauma Center and includes a large Emergency Medicine residency training program.

Dr. McBryde has been actively practicing and teaching Emergency Medicine for the last twenty-two years. He has also practiced and consulted in Emergency Medicine internationally, including New Zealand, Tanzania and for a brief time, Abu Dhabi, in 2001. He has lectured on a wide range of clinical Emergency Medicine topics over the last twenty years.

He completed his residency in Emergency Medicine at Cook County Hospital in Chicago, Illinois, US, where he served as Chief Resident from 1995 to 1996. He then completed a Sports Medicine fellowship at CMC. He is certified by the American Board of Emergency Medicine in Emergency Medicine, as well as Sports Medicine.

Dr. McBryde lives in Abu Dhabi with his wife and youngest daughter. He enjoys travel, exercise and all outdoor activities.​​
