Dr. Karan Gagneja

Dr Karan Gagneja is a Specialist Paediatric Intensive Care with over 8 years of clinical experience in PICU.

He completed his undergraduate training (MBBS) from Kasturba Medical College, Manipal, Karnataka, India in 2010. He did his post graduate training (MD) in Paediatrics in 2015 at JNMC, Wardha, India and was a gold medal recipient in Paediatrics. He was trained under some of the well-known Professors in the field of Paediatrics and Paediatrics Intensive care. He completed his Fellowship in Paediatric Critical Care at India in 2017. He did his advanced training fellowship in Paediatric & Cardiac Critical Care in children at Birmingham Children Hospital, United Kingdom under Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (RCPCH). He had been formally trained in Paediatric critical care transport at KIDS, Birmingham. Later he completed his formal training in Quality Improvement in PICU under QIC team at West-Midlands, UK.

He has gained extensive experience in the management of routine and complex cases of Paediatric and Cardiac Critical Care. He has been extensively trained in managing sick children in PICU. He is well trained in managing children on ventilation and extra-corporeal therapy. He has been formally trained for use of ultrasound for hemodynamic monitoring, lung assessment and ICP monitoring as well as USG guided procedures. He also has vast experience in managing post liver transplant & post Bone marrow transplant patients in PICU.

Dr Karan Gagneja worked as Consultant PICU at Surya Hospital, Jaipur and Indraprastha Apollo hospital, New Delhi for total of 5 years. He was working at Birmingham Children Hospital (NHS) for 2 years before moving to UAE.

He has published various articles in some of the inter-national journals and has presented cases at international level conferences. He has contributed some chapters in various text books related to Paediatric Critical Care. He has been awarded as an Accredited teacher of Paediatric Critical Care by Indian Academy of Paediatrics, India.
