Dr. Lilian Karina Julian

Dr. Lilian Karina Julian, MD, is an Associate Staff Physician in the Eye Institute at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi. Dr. Julian is a European Board Certified Ophthalmologist.

Prior to joining Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, Dr. Julian practiced as a Staff Opthalmologist at Austral University Hospital in Buenos Aires, Argentina. She was also the head of the Uveitis Clinic at the Instituto de la Visión in Buenos Aires, Argentina, the first private setting uveitis department in the country.

Dr. Julian earned both her Medical and Ophthalmology degrees from the University of Buenos Aires, Argentina. She completed two fellowships in Uveitis. The first at the University of Buenos Aires, Argentina and the second at La Pitié-Salpêtrière Hospital (Université Pierre et Marie Curie, Sorbonne Universités) in Paris, France. Her experience in various clinical settings in South America and Europe has contributed to her deep understanding in the relation between genetics and environment in the clinical course of uveitis.

Dr. Julian is also a Professor of Ophthalmology at Austral University School of Medicine in Buenos Aires, Argentina and works as a reviewer and associate editor for several scientific journals in the field of ophthalmology. Her present research project is focused on the influence of ancestry in the severity of the course of uveitis.
