Dr. Maher Khalifa

Maher is a bilingual British trained and UAE licensed clinical psychologist. He obtained his BA in Psychology from Cyprus and a Postgraduate Diploma in Counseling (Psychotherapy) from University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, UK. He has worked in several settings both public (Sheikh Khalifa Medical City) and private in inpatient and outpatient settings.

For the last 26 years he has worked extensively in individual, group, marital and family psychotherapy/counseling with different age groups (children, adolescents and adults). Having also worked for 21 years in a major mental health facility he can help clients deal with all the major issues/disorders like depression, addiction, anxiety, phobias, obsessive-compulsive disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder and so on besides personality disorders, psychosis, schizophrenia, dissociation, mania and so on…

Improving quality of life, stress management, training in relaxation and breathing techniques, and enhancing conceptual, social and practical skills are also an important part of the services he provides.
